Robust development in Reno and Las Vegas, NV, combined with increasing demands for environmentally friendly interior climate control, suggest a bright future for Nevada HVAC specialists. HVAC stands for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. Temperatures in Nevada range from below freezing in the north to triple digits in the south, which creates high demand for those who specialize in air conditioning and heating equipment repair and installation.
Environmental Safety Creates Innovation in HVAC Technology
As consumers demand environmentally friendly products and services, HVAC systems are becoming more complex. HVAC degree programs provide training in topics like refrigeration theory, heating systems, air conditioning, refrigerants, and blue print reading. HVAC specialists are also required to pass certification tests to handle refrigerants.
Many HVAC workers begin their careers on the job, and later take courses to advance their careers. College HVAC courses are often scheduled to accommodate working professionals, and you may be able to complete some courses online.
HVAC Training Enhances Employment Opportunities
The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects rapid job growth in HVAC for the next several years. You can typically complete HVAC training in six months to two years, and get an apprenticeship with a combination of on-the-job training and classroom instruction. Many HVAC employers seek candidates who have completed formal HVAC training, and have professional certification. Taking HVAC courses can enhance your career in air conditioning and heating equipment repair and installation, while keeping you up to date on new developments in the HVAC industry.
